The Ministry is a character-driven, sandbox RP that is set several years after the end of the Second Wizarding War. It is focused the witches and wizards employed at the Ministry of Magic as they rebuild their lives after Voldemort's second rise to power.
During the war, many employees turned a blind eye to the Muggleborn Registration Commission or were complicit in the arrest, imprisonment, or torture of their coworkers. Though the war is over now, the scars it left behind are far from forgotten.
Major Events Since the War
- Although many of Voldemort's followers were rounded up and imprisoned, there are still quite a few Death Eaters and other criminals at large.
Dementors are no longer used as guards in Azkaban, and they have taken to roaming the countryside in packs. Multiple attacks on civilians have been reported.
Many employees in the Ministry were excused for their actions during Voldemort's reign, claiming to have acted out of fear or due to the influence of the Imperius curse.
Kinglsey Shacklebolt was elected Minister for Magic and has been trying to push through more liberal legislation, including anti-discrimination acts for werewolves and muggleborns.
The Bureau for Upkeeping Ministry Morale (BUMM) was formed after the war and tasked with the goal of raising morale and promoting diversity and acceptance.
In efforts to reduce prejudices against muggles and increase mingling, Oracle Mall opened on the Ministry's ground floor. Ministry Mews worker housing has also been outfitted to be compatible with muggle technology to accommodate muggleborns.
Major RPed Events:
Assault On Oracle Mall - Death Eaters attacked Oracle Mall, resulting in many muggle and wizard injuries and deaths. Inside the Ministry, a separate group of Death Eaters left several dead inside the Department of Mysteries.
Azkaban Jailbreak *IMPORTANT* - Both the Department of Mysteries and Azkaban Prison were infiltrated by Death Eaters. Many guards were killed, prisoners were released on a large scale, and several people were kidnapped to Hollow World. A rescue mission managed to save some, but not all hostages.
